FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The Massachusetts Motorcycle Association, (MMA) is pleased to announce that David Kristal has been elected Treasurer and to a seat on the Board of Directors. At the May Board Meeting, the MMA Board Voted Unanimously to elect David to the position vacated by Michael Longtin after a long and successful tenure.
Michael Longtin has been involved with the MMA for five years and has served in a number of Officer and Board positions. Mike has been an active member in the Motorcycle Riders Foundation (MRF), American Motorcyclists Association (AMA), Blackstone Valley HOG, various ABATE organizations across the country, and is a frequent contributor to motorcyclist periodicals.
Dave Condon, MMA Chairman, commented, “During Mike’s tenure, he spearheaded the MMA’s transition to a new and highly successful membership platform and helped lead a number of highly successful initiatives. It’s with deep regret that we lose Mike in this capacity, but are excited that he will continue to be involved.” Mr. Longtin responded, “the MMA is a tremendous organization representing the riders of Massachusetts as their voice to our Legislature as the State’s Motorcycle Rights Organization. While it’s hard to leave the Board, I look forward to remaining involved with the Legislative Committee and helping serve our riders.”
David Kristal has been a long time resident of Billerica and has owned and operated Ideal Vending Company for 30 years. He has been involved in a number of volunteer organizations, including treasurer for local Boy Scouts organizations, as well as treasurer of the Merrimack Valley Chapter of the Harley Owners Group for two years. David has been an avid motorcycle rider for over 30 years and is a Life member of the National Harley Owners Group, as well as a Life member of Merrimack Valley HOG.
Mr. Condon added, “Dave brings a wealth of experience to the MMA and especially to the board of directors. We’re fortunate that the search for a new Treasurer was not elongated in such a tough economic climate, allowing the board to focus on the MMA’s Legislative Agenda, our Safety and Education Campaign, and our Membership. Dave will be a tremendous asset to the Board.”
Mr. Kristal responded, “as a member of the MMA and several Motorcycle Groups, I’m excited that there’s an opportunity for me to share my strengths with the riders of Massachusetts while allowing the MMA to continue its mission of serving the more than 300,000 riders in the Commonwealth.”
