MMA Update: Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance Benefit
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Your Massachusetts Motorcycle Association puts significant effort into driving an agenda targeted at Safety, Awareness, and Education. Although we would prefer to be proactive, we also strive to protect against the undesired.
One key benefit the MMA provides its members is a strong relationship with accident attorneys who can help you or your survivors. Relationships with companies like the Haymond Law Group offer discounts for members who find themselves in need of assistance after an accident. The other very important benefit is Accidental Death and Dismemberment insurance, which is also part of your MMA base membership.
Under the plan offered by your MMA and American Income Life Insurance Company, every member is provided with a $4,000 benefit in case of accidental death or dismemberment. Each year, you receive a card from AIL to designate your preferred beneficiary in the case this coverage is needed. While not a legal requirement to return the card, it simplifies and expedites the process of making those funds available to your loved ones in the case of injury or worse.
Please be aware that under NO CIRCUMSTANCES does your MMA make our members' contact information publicly available, nor does your MMA profit in any way from the relationship with AIL. The AD&D benefit is solely provided as a benefit to you, our members. Your MMA provides the addressing services and AIL only becomes aware of your contact information upon receipt of the beneficiary card.
Obtaining benefits is as simple as contacting Chairman@MassMotorcycle.org, or if you’ve returned the beneficiary card, contacting AIL directly.
In certain cases, we do periodically receive complaints about high-pressure sales tactics used by AIL to up-sell their services. MMA members are under no obligation to obtain additional services from AIL, but depending on your personal circumstances, you might benefit from them. If the sales tactics used by AIL are aggressive in any way, that is in violation of the contract we have with them; please immediately notify Chairman@MassMotorcycle.org directly so we can stop those practices.
Please also note that many other State Motorcycle Rights Organizations, and the Motorcycle Riders Foundation, offer the same benefit from AIL. Benefits from AIL are cumulative, and your membership dollars in those organizations do not cancel each other out. For example, if you are a member of the MMA, you receive a $4,000 benefit – your membership in the MRF is also $4,000, essentially doubling your total benefit to $8,000! Your MMA encourages you to take advantage of MRO memberships as a simple opportunity to obtain additional coverage!
