Your MMA Board & Officers

Deb Stoodley
Board Chair & Newsletter Editor
Deb grew up in Natick, MA but never really had anyone in her family who shared her passion for the wind. She didn’t learn to ride her own bike until well into adulthood in 2017 at a Riders Education Course in Fitchburg. Riding did not come naturally to her. The first few months with her bike she spent maneuvering around a makeshift obstacle course in her own front yard in Royalston so she could avoid being a hazard on the roads. It is that commitment to motorcycle safety that inspired her to join the MMA in 2022.
Since she got comfortable in the seat, Deb has taken up group riding with the Worcester Litas where one of Deb’s three daughters is a Founder. Deb also enjoys riding in the company of her husband or just being alone on any given winding road. She has recently graduated from her Custom 1200 Sportster to a Road King and would love to expand her motorcycle collection to include a new Indian because “You can never have too many motorcycles.”
Deb currently serves as the Royalston Area Representative for the MMA, The Newsletter Editor as well as Admin for the various Social Media Sites. She will continue to help raise her grandchildren with a love and respect for motorcycles and the rider community and hopes that the MMA will continue to secure the future for them as riders as they grow up on two wheels.

Treasurer
Elaine Griffin

Despite the fact that Elaine Griffin is a new board member, she has been a very active MMA member since the late 1990’s. Elaine was the co-publisher/editor of the MMA’s former publication, The Update. She was also a contributing columnist. Some of you may remember Ms. G’s Spot. Ms. Griffin was also the treasurer of the MMA’s PAC for several years during the late ‘90’s and early 2000’s. She was a participant in the design and marketing of MMA “merch” during this same timeline. And many of you may have met Elaine Griffin at events where she was selling raffle tickets and signing up new members, or perhaps know her from the Beast of the East as an attendee and a presenter.

Area Representative
Lionel Souza
Lionel has been riding motorcycles since 1965, both on and off-road. Many years ago, he joined the MMA to participate in protecting the rights of all motorcycle riders in Massachusetts; his main concern at the time was Freedom of Choice.
Over the years, Lionel has become more involved at the County level, and interested in the broader MMA mission. Lionel believes that everyone who rides in Massachusetts should be a MMA member - if you're in Barnstable County, contact him to find out how!

Area Representative
Michael Pierce (Wanderer)
Michael has been riding motorcycles for 35 years. In those years, he has owned many of the brands and models on the market and really enjoys the wind in his face no matter what he is riding. Michael and his wife normally put on about 17,000 miles per year covering a lot of the East Coast and Canada. Ten years ago, a friend talked them into going to DC for a Rolling Thunder event on Memorial Day Weekend. Michael was so moved by the event and the organization that he had to be part of it. Michael and 3 friends formed the Vermont 1 Chapter. After about 5 years and many events and benefit rides, the Membership had grown. Michael says, "my wife and I had decided to take a break and enjoy being spectators again. I have been a member of the MMA for a number of years. Jay Kapsinow became a member in 1989 and the Franklin County Rep in 1990; last year he came to me and asked me if I would take over for him. I am looking forward to being the Franklin County Rep and all the challenges that come with the position.

Area Representative
Ray Pike III
Ray first began motorcycling in the late 80s with his first bike, a 500cc Yamaha. He currently rides a '93 FLT Ultra Classic. About ten years later he joined the MMA because "it seemed like the right thing to do if (we) don't want to lose the rights (we) still have" in the State. As the Norfolk County Rep he works to promote safe and responsible legislation, retain current freedoms, and regain a few lost. "The MMA is not a *me* thing, it's a *we* thing...don't ever catch yourself asking another motorcyclists 'what are you guys doing about (motorcyclist rights)?" Even a simple action -- like calling the Statehouse instead of thinking the next guy will take care of that -- is greater than a pile of inactions and excuses!" Its a fact: more members = more voices (and votes) at the State House. Ride Safe and God Bless.

Ex Officio
John Pecora
John began riding in the '60s, during a time when motorcyclists were free to ride without helmets. For many years, he only dreamed of riding while he served in the military, married and raised his children and established his business. During those years, the passion for riding remained strong, and in 1993, he purchased a used '88 Soft Tail. This time he never looked back! In 2000, he joined the MMA to get involved with protecting biker's rights and all rider freedoms. John has previously served at Middlesex County Representative and District 1 Manager. John says, "get involved or don't complain!"
